The Oily, Burning Bride

A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out - Leviticus 6:13

Something is happening in the Bride right now. I am unsure of whether or not I can even articulate it. It is grand, glorious, and weighty.

There is a BURNING that is happened. It is beyond the shaking of the beginning of 2020. In fact, I see that the Bride has gone from being SHAKEN AWAKE to and OILY BURNING. A kind of burning that does not leave a smoke smell, but a Heavenly scent that draws people in. I see it so strongly in my Spirit, though I cannot yet put words to it.

The Lord is doing something new in me. I am still asking questions and stewarding every detail in my heart with the Father, but He is manifesting Himself to me in new and very different ways lately. I am indeed burning – but I am also oily. It is unlike anything that I have ever encountered in my life, and the Lord has at times caused physical manifestations of actual Heavenly oil on my skin. This manifestation is not something that happens to me regularly, so I have been speaking to the Father about it in great detail.

One night, the oil was soft and light, rather like a rose essential oil. It came after a time in God’s presence when someone spoke a fiery word over my life regarding some very personal desires that I have. I felt like this oil was sent to encourage me, kind of like a spiritual, prophetic act that brought an anointing with it. It was lovely, and indeed it was a personal thing for me – although it encouraged many around me to go deeper with the Lord and burn for more of what He had for them as well. It carried with it a supernatural heat (though I was sitting right under the air conditioner) that made me sweat heavily, and the people around me could not even sit next to me without having to move because I was radiating heat!

The other time this happened, the Lord gave me oil on my hands for the Body of Christ. It was thick and smelled spicy, rather like when you marinate something with your hands while cooking. I heard the Father say that the Bride must NOT allow the oil to run dry, or the fire to stop burning, because He is ready to COOK SOMETHING BIG in each Bible-believing Church, ministry, organization and mission group!

I see this as an invitation to Leviticus 6:13: A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.

I asked the Holy Spirit a few weeks ago how to keep the fire burning - how to not allow it to go out. And His response shook me. He said, “You BURN OUT when you RUN OUT of OIL…stay oily, and you will keep burning for Me!

To stay oily, we need HIS oil. That oil is found in the BURNING, and the BURNING is found in our friendship with Him.

He led me to research oil in the natural. According to the Collins Dictionary, as a variable noun, oil is a thick liquid that is used as fuel and for making parts of machinery move smoothly. Oil is found underground. Sometimes, you have to dig deep into INTIMACY to find the oil that makes your heart continue to burn. Often, oil is the thing that makes your time with Him smooth and keeps you from “grinding” in the natural.

As a verb, the Collins Dictionary states that oil, when put onto something, keeps things protected. Your life, your calling, and your FIRE is protected when you keep it oiled in the Spirit. And INTIMACY is the way to stay oiled.

Also, as a variable noun, oil is used for cooking and used to sooth skin and often has a pleasant smell. When I think of cooking, immediately I think of seasoning as I am from South Louisiana, so the two go together. Children of God are the “salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13), and too much salt makes one thirsty. He also reminded me that His children are called to make people THIRSTY for JESUS, the LIVING WATER (John 4:14; John 7:38). Likewise, we carry Jesus, who is the HEALING BALM (Jeremiah 8:22) and we are His sweet aroma to the world (2 Corinthians 2:15).

When I cook Cajun food and marinate the meat in the oil and seasonings, if I do it properly, even hours after scrubbing my hands with hot water and soap, I can still smell the seasoning and feel the softness of the oil on my hands. THE SMELL OF OIL AND SEASONING DOES NOT GO AWAY, and it stirs more hunger for the dish that just prepared. The Bride is rising up in fire and with a new aroma that will incite hunger for Jesus and draw many into the Kingdom of light!

Another noun that represents oil is that which is in oil PAINTS. As ones who have been restored to the image of our Father, the Great Creator, we have the amazing ability to COLOR THE WORLD around us with His love. And that love can only be found, refilled and remembered while in the SECRET PLACE with Him, where we burn for His love.

A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out - Leviticus 6:13

I feel so strongly the invitation to stay OILY while we burn in His presence. I feel the invitation to LET YOUR BURN RAGE, and to allow the spiciness of your journey with Him make people THIRSTY for MORE of Jesus!

I heard Him say that for some, it looks like EMBRACING the oil of JOY (Isaiah 61:3).

For some, it is SURRENDERING to the process of the pressing to make the oil.

For others, simply allowing yourself to BURN in hotter ways than ever and not pull out because Jesus is with you.

HEAVEN IS LEAKING upon the Earth and through your ministries....and it WILL burst as we stay oily and we let our burn rage. Do not fear the fire, for He is with you in the flames (Daniel 3:25). Stay close to Him in this season. You have awakened!

Your presence releases a fragrance so pleasing— over and over poured out. For your lovely name is “Flowing Oil.” No wonder the brides-to-be adore you.
