**This post was originally posted in July 2020, after a dream that I had in June. Interestingly the dream refers to "Covid-20" and not 19. My friend, Iris, reminded me of this dream this week and we both agree that there are keys in this for those who are willing to pray and intercede for the nations. There is also a great SOLUTION in this blog - that as born-again Christians, we are NOT "mere men" and "mere women." There is a power and authority that we carry, through faith in Jesus Christ and what He did, that is higher than anything that is in this dream OR in the natural world around us. I felt led to repost this as a reminder to 1.) Intercede and not be afraid, and 2.) REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE. Don't be distracted by what you see (as hard as that is at times). Remember Who is bigger and Who is inside of you :-)
Dream:
The Lord gave me a dream this past week (June 2020) that I believe is significant. As I share it with you, please note that I am only sharing exact details from the dream itself; I am not making assumptions or giving my opinion on what would appear to be the meaning of the events in this dream. I want to share with a pure heart exactly what the Holy Spirit showed me and spoke through the dream and the scripture He led me to when I awoke.
I dreamed that I was in a large crowd. I was having an “out of body” experience in this dream, meaning I was standing in the crowd but my consciousness and my spirit were looking down upon myself in this crowd.
The crowd was large and annoyed, frustrated and some were irate, but most of the mass had no idea why they were actually upset. Nearly everyone was arguing about something, and it seemed almost as if most of this group were speaking different languages, though they were all speaking English. Some people appeared outraged at those who did not understand their “language.” I noticed that there was an unseen, sinister, dark cloud of smoke that was turning through the crowd and causing words to be twisted and not heard properly. I knew that it was a demonic spirit. Many of those in this huge group were Christians, and many were not, and yet all in this particular crowd were being affected by this unseen demon.
After a few moments of watching this occurrence, I noticed that off on the side, behind where the huge crowd had gathered, there was a small demon wearing a T-shirt that said, “Covid-20.” The demon was horrific and in no way “cute” to look at, but its actions reminded me of the evil creatures from the movie “Gremlins” in the 80’s. The demon was small, but it wreaked great havoc and caused serious destruction to several buildings in the vicinity. It set things on fire, it caused structures to collapse and it would kick people’s legs out from under them before they even knew what was happening. In my dream, this little demon did not represent sickness; yet I knew that it represented a pandemic of fear, chaos and the subtle destruction of large structures.
What urgently grabbed my attention in the dream was that the “Covid-20” demon had gone almost entirely UNNOTICED by the crowd that had gathered near it. Everything that this small demon did was on the side and out of sight, or behind the backs of the crowd so as to remain undetected. It seemed to be a cohort of the sinister, black, twisting spirit that was roaming through the people. The twisting spirit appeared to keep them distracted and annoyed.
In the dream, I soon realized that although I was seeing these things play out from a sense of being “above,” so-to-speak, that I was indeed ABOVE in all my being. I remembered that I am seated with Christ in Heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), so I confronted the “Covid-20” demon with confidence and told it to GO, in the Mighty Name of Jesus! I actually confronted the demon several times, and each time in laughed in my face, yet I stood my ground and spoke with the God-given authority that I have as a daughter of the Most High God. As I stood my ground with authority, the “Covid-20” demon grew smaller and smaller in size.
There came a point in the dream where the small "Covid-20" demon seemed to freeze, much like a scene from a movie when time stops and everything is very still. I took that opportunity to turn back toward the crowd and I began to declare over the Christians in the huge mass of people before me, “YOU ARE NOT MERE MEN! YOU ARE NOT MERE MEN!”
As I declared truth over the believers in this crowd, something began to shift and change. It was as if that sinister, twisting spirit in the crowd began to flee and to jump off of anyone who was a Christian, and I could literally see their minds begin to grow clear again as the black smoke spirit left their presence. Soon I began to see the eyes of the prophets in the crowd grow crystal clear as they, too, saw the “Covid-20” demon that had been hidden from their sight before that moment. I saw the intercessors begin to arise with redemptive strategies to keep that nasty little “Covid-20” demon away. I then saw that the “Covid-20” demon was fully naked (the T-shirt was gone). He was fully exposed, and he was stripped of all power as the prophets and intercessors declared words of life and redemption solutions into the atmosphere around them.
Just before I awoke, I noticed that the outrage of the crowd around me was still present, as was the black, twisting spirit, but it was greatly and heavily diminished. I also saw that the destruction caused by the “Covid-20” demon was no more; in fact, it was as if he and his destruction never existed.
After awaking and praying into this dream, the Lord led me to 1 Corinthians 2:11-16 – 1 Corinthians 3:3:
“For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?”
When I awoke, the Lord reminded me through the dream, as well as this scripture, that a born-again Christian is NOT a mere man or woman. Let me share the three points that He showed me about this fact:
1) Firstly, He reminded me that we have each received the Spirit who is from God, and we have the Spirit and mind of Christ to discern the spirits and act or react accordingly. We are seated with Christ in Heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), which means that we are actually seated ABOVE the envy, strife and divisions. As He has given us His Holy Spirit to partner with, we are fully enabled to rightly discern what spirits are amongst us. **(and may I add in 2021, that we are also given the ability to carry the PEACE of Jesus into each of these situations)
2) Secondly, He showed me that those who are not merely men or women carry great authority, and we have the power to walk in this kingdom authority that Jesus has given us. Colossians 2:15 says, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” This is the same Jesus that lives inside of each of us who are born-again. And He has given us this authority. In Christ and by faith, we stand victorious and in confidence.
3) Lastly, He allowed me to see that if the enemy can keep believers from seeing and remembering that they are more than “mere men,” then they will remain distracted and unable to discern what is before them, and what they were created to stand against through the power of Jesus at work within them. He showed me that through Jesus, He has given us everything we need to stand against and even disarm the powers of darkness.
FINAL THOUGHT: It's important to note that although the crowd in the dream did not represent the entirety of the Bride of Christ, I believe that this dream is significant for every believer as it is an invitation to remember who we are in Christ, and the victorious reality we are actually living FROM (Ephesians 2:6). It is also an invitation to deeper intimacy, which leads to clarity in seeing into the spirit realm and knowing how to stand in the authority that Jesus has given us.
Even as I type this today, I hear Him whisper, "My Bride is waking up, she is waking up to who she is!" May we live fully awake and fully aware of our true heritage as children of the Most High God, who are so much more than mere men and women!
And here in September 2021, I'd also like to add that an old favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11, is not "void" just because of what we see in the natural today. Let me remind you:
“'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '”
I break off every spirit of dread and fear that has tried to come against you, in the name of Jesus! He is not a man that He should lie.....and we are not "mere men" thanks to Him.
